2025 Festive Lights Switch On at the Eastdown Garden
AN INVITATION!
MONDAY 15TH DECEMBER 6PM
To celebrate the Festive Season you are invited to head to Eastdown Garden for a mince pie and a cup of mulled wine
(non-alcoholic available too).
We will be announcing the winners of the children’s Christmas card competition and handing out the raffle prizes promised in the Newsletter.
The forecast says it’s not going to rain! Wrap up warm.
We warmly invite all residents of Downs Estate to attend this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The main purpose of the meeting is to;

Elect the Board for the coming year

Review the audited accounts
-
Appoint an auditor
But it's also an opportunity to receive a report on the year's activities and achievements and discuss any other issues relevant to Downs Estate.
Please note: Voting on official business is reserved for members only.

We’re excited to invite you to a relaxing afternoon at the Downs Estate Community Garden! Join us for a free community lunch filled with good food, great company, and plenty of fun.

• Cake Baking Competition – Show off your baking skills and win prizes! - see rules
Whether you're a seasoned baker or just love a bit of fun in the kitchen, we encourage you to enter our Cake Baking Competition. Bring your best bake and impress the judges!
📝 How to Join:
To help us plan, please complete and return the reservation form by Friday, 22nd August.
Forms can be submitted to the TMO Office at 5 Kingsdown House.
Let us know if you’ll be entering the cake competition!

• Feel free to bring your own drinks (note: alcohol will not be provided)
• Lunch vouchers will be distributed on the day

Cake Baking Competition
> We are having a cake baking competition as part of our Big Lunch extravaganza!
> It would be lovely to have as many cakes as possible, so get out your cake tins and bake!
> Guide lines,
> There will be two categories, one a whole cake or 6 small cakes, of same recipe, for example, cup cakes, muffins or small bar cakes, or small squares.
> Participants must provide a written list of all ingredients, (to prevent allergic reactions), all cakes must be homemade.
> Participants will be allocated a number or letter so judging will be done anonymously.
> We hope that you will be happy to have your cake eaten by everyone after judging.
